Title: Blind Date Part: 7 Rating: G Author:ChibiSerenity E-mail: plstcfish@aol.com Blind Date - Part 7 - The Stupidest Thing.... Konnichi Wa, minna-chan! I am SOOO happy! People e-mailed me, and this is done JUST in time for the deadline. Amazing, ne? And I think it's a pretty good chapter. Well, thanks TONS to all the nice people who E- mailed me. You're all cool and I E-mailed you back. Or attempted to. There are SOME people who I couldn't E-mail back, and I apologize. It's just because my E-mail is messed up and I can't figure out how to reach you. Oh, and thanks tons to Keely/Serenity (I don't know what to call you!!! AAAAAH!!) For being so cool and nice as to help me. Yay!!!! She writes fanfics, but I'm not sure if it's as Keely or what. Oh well. They're called A Doctor's Life and Serena's College Life. Oh yeah!! And before I forget, Bubbles is writing a GREAT story called Flower of Life. It's based on Rose in the Rough, my first fanfic, only hers is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better. It's good and happy and the first part is out and I hope she sends me the second part soon. Heehee. Read it. It's good. ~Serena~ We sat in Darien's car eating our McDonalds lunch, remembering when the rattled manager ended up calling the police to escort the hysterical woman who had accused Serena and Darien of hentai behavior away from McDonalds. As Serena finished up the last of her french fries she sighed and leaned back in her chair. When she thought about that insane woman she remembered the 'hentai' behavior she had accused Darien and Serena of. Serena had leaned forward and almost kissed Darien. She remembered the feeling of his lips so close to hers. She remembered when Darien had angrily told the woman they only MIGHT have kissed if she hadn't interrupted. Maybe Darien....liked her? Wanted to kiss her? She dared not even wish it. Yet she did. "Penny for your thoughts." Darien asked in a whispered tone of voice, sending shivers up and down her spine. She turned towards him. She looked into his deep blue eyes, and was suprised in the tenderness she found there. Towards whom? Could it possibly be towards....her? Serena took a deep breath and thought of the tenderness in his eyes, of how vehemently he had protected her against that woman, of how he had rescued her from the pouring rain. "I was thinking...." she began, almost losing her nerve. "Yes?" prompted Darien, smiling kindly. "I was thinking of when that woman accused us of...well....you know what she accused us of." She could feel the blush rise to her cheeks. "Yeah, go on." He was serious. He wanted to know what she had to say. "And you said we might have kissed..." "Yes, I did." Did he seem almost sad about it? "Okay, because I was wondering if you had....well......actually..... wantedtokissme." He looked at her incrediously and the blush on her cheeks was almost too much to bear and she hung her head in shame. ~Darien~ Had I heard correctly? Serena was asking if I actually wanted to kiss her. Wasn't the answer to that question obvious? If I hadn't wanted to kiss her why would I have tried? Why would she have tried? My heart sped up slightly. But did she try? Or was it all some sort of accident? I took a deep breath and turned Serena's beautiful face towards me. "Yes." I said. I almost was incapable of saying it, but I forced the words out. She deserved to know the truth. And I wanted to know the truth of how she felt about me. Her eyes seemed to be confused for a moment, and then bright. Happy. Happy? About the fact that I wanted to kiss her. Could she... "Well.." she began again, blushing. "There is no ridiculous woman here now, and if you wanted to kiss me and I wanted to kiss you then, well, then, ya see..." she was gorgeous when she stuttered. But I knew what she wanted to say and my heart sang because of it. I leaned forward, my hand underneath her chin. She smiled, glad that I could recognize what it was she was trying to say. She closed her eyes and lifted her face up to mine. I closed my eyes and gladly met her waiting lips. ~Serena~ I felt his lips against mine and an electric tingling went all through me. I placed my hands at the back of his neck, blissfully happy as he held me in his arms. One hand went around my waist and the other lingered at my cheek. After awhile he deepened the kisses and I welcomed them gladly. I couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather be. In the arms of Darien, his lips on mine, lightheaded with happiness. Then he pulled away and I opened my eyes, smiling. He was smiling too. He then leaned forward and kissed my cheeks, my forehead, my nose. I sighed happily. Just then I heard the faint strains of Moonlight Destiny coming from my locket... ~Darien~ Moonlight Destiny played in the silence. I pulled away from Serena as I remembered the locket I had given to Sailor Moon, or rather lost and let Sailor Moon keep. I remembered her sometimes utter stupidity in battle, yet ability to pull together. I had been positive I loved Sailor Moon, but I love Serena. I know I love Serena. But wait.....how had Serena gotten the locket? For she was now getting it out and holding it, watching it. Listening to the music. I let go of her and watched the locket as well. How had Serena gotten Sailor Moon's locket? "Serena...do you know Sailor Moon?" I asked all of a sudden. She looked up and seemed at a loss for words. "Oh! Um....uh.....well.....you see. I wouldn't say I know her...more like...well.." "How did you get that locket? Did she give it to you?" I urged. "Um..well...someone gave it to me. Or rather lost it and I found it. But he let me keep it! I didn't steal it!" "He...so it wasn't Sailor Moon?" "No.....but hey! How do you know about lockets belonging to Sailor Moon?" Now it was my turn to be at a loss for words. "Well......um.....erm......I just....know a lot about the local superheros?" "Tuxedo Mask gave this locket to Sailor Moon, and she and he are the ONLY ones that know that. Sailor Moon didn't tell anybody, so Tuxedo Mask must have told you. Who is he?" "Wait a sec....how do you know Sailor Moon didn't tell anybody? How do you know that Tuxedo Mask gave this locket to Sailor Moon in the first place?" "Well....uh.... I asked you first!" "I asked you second, so what?" "So YOU answer first!" "And you answer second?" "Yes." Well, I'm Tuxedo Mask. Yup Serena, I go around in a cape and mask at night, rescuing pretty sailor scouts. And no, I'm not crazy. Really. Yeah, like she'd actually believe me. I have to come up with something!!! Something...but what. "Um, well, Serena...you see....sometimes I...I...um..." I looked at her eyes. I couldn't lie to her, I just couldn't do it. She might decide she hated me for my split personality, for my interludes with Sailor Moon, but I could not lie to her. I would only feel the worse for it. "Serena...I.....I'm Tuxedo Mask." I hung my head, waiting for her laughter. "Wha....what?" she asked in wonder. "I'm Tuxedo Mask." "Darien, if this is some kind of sick joke...." she began. "No! I am, seriously! I am...." "I don't believe you." "I can't say I blame you." I said, looking at the floor. "Well.....transform! Yeah, if you're Tuxedo Mask, transform!" Her eyes seemed to instantly brighten. Yet how could I do what she asked? How could I not? I loved her, and this love was making a fool of me. I pulled out a rose and I transformed. (With little Spanish clicking music in the background, of course :) Serena sat looking at me, mouth gaping open. I looked down at myself standing in the deserted parking lot. Yup, Tuxedo Mask in all his glory, holding a red rose. I walked forward and handed the rose to Serena. "You turn." I say. "Huh?" she asks. "Your turn to answer. I answered first, now you." ~Serena~ Darien was Tuxedo Mask? The dashing, romantic, and handsome Tuxedo Mask? Yup, I could see it. Definently. Handsome, sweet, wonderful Darien as Tuxedo Mask. My guardian and protecter. Well, he had leveled with me. I ought to level with him, right? But I could just hear Luna lecturing me: "Serena, you ought not be so free with your secret identity. If the negaverse found out who you are, you would never be safe." But Darien was Tuxedo Mask. I had seen him transform! It was perfectly safe to tell him...right? Yes. After all, he had taken a bigger chance telling me he was Tuxedo Mask, not knowing I was Sailor Moon, than I was revealing my secret identity. "Well...." I swallowed nervously. "I'm Sailor Moon." Now Tuxedo Mask...no, Darien's jung hung open. He looked at me, and slow realization filled his eyes. "I...I don't see how I didn't see it before. I mean, who else has you beautiful meatball head hairstyle?" "Gee, thanks!" I say, in mock anger. "But just to make sure...shouldn't you transform? I mean, I transformed for you, right?" "Uh.....right." I took a deep breath. Luna was going to chew me out. Revealing my secret identity, transforming for no real reason in the middle of a parking lot....but then again, who says she has to know? I thrust my hand into the air shouting "Moon Prism Power!!!!!!" I immediently feel my dress turning to pink ribbon and then my sailor uniform. I stand in my pose in front of Darien/Tuxedo Mask. We stare at each other, not knowing what to say. ~Darien~ Serena is Sailor Moon. The beautiful, kind Serena and the brave (yes, she IS brave) wonderful Sailor Moon were the same person. I took a step forward. "Serena.." I began, not knowing what to say. "Yes?" asked Serena, her hands trembeling slightly. I step forward once more and enfold Serena in my arms, kissing her forehead, smelling her fragrent hair. She reached up her arms and pulled my face closer to hers, kissing me. I held her close and sat on the end of my car, holding her on my lap. She fit perfectly into my arms, like she was always meant to be there. And she was. I didn't know why, or how, but somehow I just knew that she was meant to be with me, in my arms, forever. I looked into her light blue eyes, holding her gently, my heart going a million miles an hour, the still playing melody of Moonlight Destiny pounding in my head. "Serena...don't laught at me, please." "Laugh? Why would I LAUGH!!"she asked, astonished. "Serena...oh God, what ifsomeone sees us like this!" I realize suddenly, and de-transform (AN: I don't know the correct termanology here, okay?). Serena did likewise and looked up at me, puzzled. "What's wrong Darien? And don't try telling me there isn't something wrong because I KNOW that there is." "Well...you see....I think I ought to level with you." Her eyes seemed almost fearful. "Serena....I think I love you. No, I KNOW I love you. I never want to let you out of my arms. All I want to do is hold you, and protect you. Forever. As Tuxedo Mask and as Darien. What I'm asking, I guess, is...well...do you think you could ever love me back?" I look at her, pleadingly. All of a sudden, she starts laughing. Laughing! Was the idea so ridiculous? Was it so pathetically impossible? She looked at me, as though just realizing I was serious. I suppose she saw the heartbroken look in my eyes, because she seemed shocked. Then she smiled and hugged me. "Darien...remember back at McDonalds, you asked me if I ate fast food?" "Yeah..." I answered, unsure of where this was going. "I told you that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard you say. Well, I was wrong. Very wrong. Could I ever love you? Now come on, that is absolutely the STUPIDEST thing ever said by anyone. Anywhere! I mean, do fish swim? Do birds fly? Does Amy get good grades? Do I love you? How could I not? You are handsome, and charming, and wonderful, and, and,well....you're Darien!!!! You're Darien, and I love you." With that she threw herself into my arms and I grinned. She loved me. Serena Tsukino loved me, Darien Chiba. It was too good to be true! I held her close and leaned down to kiss her again, and I smiled inwardly as she wrapped her arms around my neck. I think this is the happiest I've ever been. ~Rita~ How could we have been so STUPID? I mean, what were we thinking? Darien and Serena HATE each other. With a vengeance. And now even if they ARE meant to be together, all that Andrew and I did was fuel their hatred and prolong their getting together. Maybe now they'd NEVER get together because they were so disgusted by the night. Andrew and my's (AN: I don't know the proper grammer there. Andrew and I's? Doesn't sound right. I don't know. Gomen people.) evening had been spent wallowing in misery. The depression in the car was palpable. We passed a nearly deserted McDonalds, and Andrew's headlights illuminated a couple kissing in front of a red car. Darien and Serena might have ended up like that if we hadn't messed it up. Just then the car screeched to a stop, and Andrew looked at me. "Rita....is that Darien's car?" I looked closer. I couldn't tell from this distance many details about the car, or the people in front of it. "I don't know...could be. Should we go and see?" Andrew nodded and pulled into the parking lot. As we drew closer the boy turned around, astonished at our presence. ~Serena~ I was floating. I was in seventh heaven. (AN: I'm so proud. I actually know where the expression seventh heaven came from (I think). In the Muslim religion there are seven heavens, the seventh of which is the best. Just thought I'd spread a little knowledge.:o)) I was losing myself in Darien's embrace, in the happiness I felt being with him. In the happiness I felt knowing that he loved me. Just then he broke off our kiss and turned towards a car whose occupants were gaping at us. I blushed, embarrased. "What the hell..."began Darien, looking at the car. Then he jumped up in suprise, making sure not to let me fall. I peered at the two gaping people only to realize that they were none other than...Andrew and Rita! They rushed out of the car, and rubbed their eyes, as if unable to believe what they saw. "Serena? And Darien? Oh my God, you two really DID hook up! This is great! I thought you had left! What happened? Doesn't matter, you've gotta tell me ALL about it, Serena! Oh, and Darien, I want your side too! Oooh, this is so EXCITING!" said Rita so fast it made my head spin. She looked like an excited kid, not the mature, sophisticated entomologist (AN: I think this is the right world. One who studies bugs.) she usually was. Meanwhile, Darien and Andrew were involved in their own discussion. Apparently Darien had been able to steer Andrew off the subject of our relationship and onto the subject of his flat wheel. "Hey, no prob, I got a spare in the trunk! Unless you want to stay a little longer...." Andrew said slyly. Darien looked like he was going to hit Andrew, but I touched his arm and calmed down. "The spare please." Darien said tensly. Andrew grinned and fished the spare tire out of his trunk. Darien got on his hands and knees in his fancy tuxedo, and changed the tire. When he got up I grabbed his hands, as grimy as they were, and kissed him. Andrew and Rita looked at each other and Rita said "I think we're interrupting something...come on, let's go." "Awe, come on honey, I want to watch the show!" whined Andrew. Rita grabbed his hand and dragged him, exasperated, to the car. Soon the drove off leaving me alone in Darien's arms. Again. Eventually Darien pulled away and smiled. He opened the door for me, and as I got in he got a really weird look on his face. "Uh...Serena...love?" he said. "What is it?" I asked. "Well, I think I got handprints on the back of your dress." "WHAT!!! This is dry clean only! Do you KNOW how much it costs to dry clean? And what if my father sees this? Do you have any IDEA what he'll assume that we were doing! My God, he'll never let me see you again! Heck, he'll never let me speak to another member of the opposite sex again - even Melvin! Not that I'd mind not speaking to Melvin. But, Darien, I'd never be able to-" He cut me off when I was about to burst into tears with a kiss. When he pulled away he grinned. "I was only kidding, meatball head. There's a smudge, but nothing a wet paper towel with some soap won't cure, okay?" "Okay." I said, nodding. Then he pulled out of the parking lot and we started for home. Yeah!!!!! It's done!!!! Yippee!!! They're together, and happy, and everything is cool. And, moreover, I finished my FIRST multi part story!! Break out the cake and party hats, people, I'm gonna have a party! Heehee. Well, E-mail me and tell me what you think? What should I write next? I dunno. For this story Alicia Blade (excellent author) told me to write a first season romance, and, ta-da! Blind Date was born. So, help me! Please! And E-mail me!!!!! Love, luck, and may you all find the man of your dreams :) ChibiSerenity
