Title: A Match Made In Heaven Part: 4 (WOOOOHOO!) Rating: PG Author: Angel Erika E-mail: Erika515@aol.com AN: Hi hi hi! Guess what everyone? I'm back! Wait! Don't scroll yet! Hehe...I know that if you're here reading this now, you *must* want to know what happens next, right? I've got a proposal. Since you all are *so* nice and read my fic (hopefully FICS soon!), and you guys e-mail me, Ihave found out a way to interact with the readers (that's you!)more! I'm gonna ask questions! Aren't I a genius? Lol! It's always gonna be at the end of the chapter, DON'T SCROLL YET! After you read this part! Hehehe! I'm not crazy...I just *act* like I'm crazy! LOL Disclaimer: Sailor Moon doesn't belong to me...I'm only borrowing Naoko's characters for a little while so I can bore you guys with my writing! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *How can I have been so mean?! It wasn't fair to Josh...I mean, everything he said was true...I didn't have to yell at his face like that...I -am- ugly, stupid, and klutzy and I know no one will ever want to love me...I can't let my temper get a hold of me like that anymore...never again...* Serena sat under her tree and quietly cried. She looked at the tranquil lake before her and just...thought. *I don't deserve to be Sailor Moon...Luna shouldn't have picked me, she could have chosen Raye or Amy or even Lita. Anyone but me.* She thought the same things over and over (AN: You know when you're upset, the bad things that happened in the past pops up in your mind over and over) "Serena?" a familiar voice said behind the distressed girl. "Are you alright?" "What do you think?" "I think you're in need of some comforting right now, do you want me to stay?" "Please? Darien? Could you?" she pleaded to him. He smiled through his eyes at her and sat himself down beside Serena. "Anything, Serena." "Really? Gosh, Darien, you've really changed over these past couple of days." she leaned onto his shoulder, marveling at how they seemed...connected. They fit together like a puzzle. "Yeah, well..." he placed his arm around her, the same position they were in before. "You bring out the best in me." She smiled, though he couldn't see it, Darien could feel the warmth of her smile and pulled her in closer, leaning against the trunk of the tree. "He was right, you know." she told him. "Nobody in their right mind would date me...much less love me." "That's not true, Serena, I can name a handful of friends that would give anything to keep that smile on your face." "That's different...I'm talking about when...when...I can't even explain it. It's like when you're with someone, and that's the only thing that matters in the world. And when they hold you in their arms, they make all your troubles disappear. And you wouldn't even have to say it, but you can feel the love entwining them together." *...like this...* Serena thought. Darien was amazed at how much a 15 year-old would know about love, when he himself, a senior, has never even experienced it. *...until now...* He smiled ironically. "I know..." he hadn't meant to say it outloud, but it just popped out. She looked over at him quizically and found him staring out in space with a new look in his eyes. The idea suddenly dawned on her *He loves someone...* Her heart sank, and she drew in a quivery breath and looked away. Darien no longer felt the warmth beside him. He took his jacket off and gingerly placed it on Serena's shoulders. "What's wrong?" "Nothing...I..I've just got a headache, that's all." "You must have...you yelled at that guy loud enough to give him a headache." (AN: No! Darien! Don't say that! ...talk about putting your foot in your mouth...) "....He didn't deserve it...." "Wha-, oh no, Serena, -none- of the things he said about you were true. I can swear on it." he said. "And he -did- deserve it, if I were you, I would have thrown a coke over him or something!" (AN: just for you, Moondreams16! ^_^) She giggled faintly and said more seriously, "No, really. He was the only person to have asked me out before, and he said it was a dare. Guys would have to be crazy to ask me out." There was a short pause from Darien, until he finally, and softly said, "Then I guess I would be a lunatic..." *Darien! What are you getting yourself into?!* his mind screamed at him, though his heart was cheering me on. "What do you mean?" Serena, being naive, questioned. "You know that dance tomorrow after school?" "Yeah...which I guess I won't be going to anymore...and it's the biggest dance of the year, too." (AN: Just pretend there isn't a Prom, okie?) "Guess again." he tilted her chin up to him and sweetly planted a kiss on her cheek. Once he pulled back, Serena found a sparkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. "Really, Darien? You'll take me?" "Anything..." "Oh! You are such a -sweetheart!-" she jumped into into his awaiting arms and gave him a hug. She pulled back and they stared into each other's eyes...the gap between their faces growing smaller with every second. Their lips were centimeters apart when, "Serena! Where are you?" Once they heard Lita's voice, they immediately broke apart, the atmosphere around them filled with awkwardness. (AN: Sorry guys! Not yet!) *My God Serena! What were you thinking?! Kissing Darien?! What is wrong with you?!* her mind yelled at her, while her heart was cursing Lita for interrupting. "Umm...we're over here, Lita!" She yelled out from behind the tree's trunk. Lita came over, along with Raye. Once she saw how close Darien and Serena were sitting (Darien's arm was no longer around Serena), she nudged Raye in the ribs, who understood quickly what she meant. "Well, since you didn't have lunch, we decided to look for you and get you something to eat, Serena." Raye said, "There's a little in here for all of us." "Molly had to go an meet ::blech:: Melvin somewhere or the other and left. She says that she'll call you up later though." Lita told her. "Thanks guys." "I'll be leaving now, I'll see you tomorrow, girls" Darien stood up. "Are you sure you don't want anything, Darien? Lita made a killer lunch!" Raye tried to pursuade him to stay. "No, that's okay. I've still got to finish some stuff up before school tomorrow. Thanks for the offer though." He waved briefly and walked away. "Alright, girl. What is going on between you two?" Lita questioned Serena, who had already made her way to the sandwiches. "Me and Darien? Nothing." she tried to hide it, but a small blush crept up to her cheeks. "Nothing?" "Uh-huh." "Okay then...well, I'm hungry so let's follow Serena's lead and eat!" Raye said. ~*~A little while later~*~ "I'm stuffed...that was really good Lita! As usual!" "Thanks!" "I've got to go, guys. I'll see you tomorrow!" Serena skipped off. "So did you buy her story with Darien and her having nothing between them?" Lita asked Raye. "No way!" ~*~ It's already 3:00 in the afternoon and Serena was skipping happily down the road to her house. *I can't believe he's actually taking me! This is majorly awesome!* "Mom! I'm home!" "Hello Serena!" She ran up the stairs to her bedroom and plopped herself down on her bed. "Hello, Serena. You know, you're lucky. I think the Negaverse is on a vacation!" the black cat said. "Hehe...probably! There hasn't been any attacks for the whole weekend! I'm finally getting some sleep, Luna!" "Speaking of sleep...I'm going to take a nap." "Okie dokie, Luna!" Luna curled up at the foot of the bed and dozed off into la-la land. *Oooooh! I'm going to the dance with Darien! This is absolutely going to be perfect!* she closed her eyes, ready to fall into a land of dreams...dancing with her prince. She suddenly sat upright like a lighting bolt and yelled "What am I going to wear?! MOM!! I NEED TO GO TO THE STORE!!" *********************************************************************** End of Part4 12/10/99 Happy Holidays! With something at it's core as fine and remote and purely spiritual as tiny as the spark in the heart of the unbreakable diamond. No dream had ever been like this." - The Blue Castle by L.M.
